Christmas/New Year's card

I still haven't gotten around to mailing our cards this year...I know, I'm such a slacker! So I thought I would post the picture that I took to put on the front of the card, and then a photo of the kids that would go inside the card. The photo of the leaf was taken out in our backyard after the first snow this winter. A friend helped me add the verse and border in photoshop.

The inside of the card reads:

January 2007

May God's word
transform your
hearts and minds
in the New Year...

Our new kitchen

September 2006...
We decided to completely remodel our kitchen. Those of you who have actually been to our home and have seen the old kitchen, you will not believe the transformation. We tore everything out, including walls and the ceiling. I will include some before pictures as well as in process. And then ofcourse the final unveiling of the new kitchen...it's beautiful and such a joy to cook and be in.

I can't figure out how to move these pictures, so start at the bottom of the post and scroll up to get a progression. We took out the large window and put a smaller one in so that the stove could go there. We took out the wall between the old kitchen and the dining room. It's nice to have one big room now...seperated by the island. That's where we eat most of our meals!

Another year has come!

Happy new year to all our friends and family!
Can't believe another year has come and gone...2007 sounds so strange.
We had a great 2006 and are looking forward to another exciting year. Here are some highlights of 2006 and then I'll attach some photos...

March 2006 I went to Singapore with Abby to visit Missy and Dan and the kids!
What an amazing time...I absolutely love that city! We had a fantastic time.
May - Abby turned 2...what a blessing she is to our family!
June - Jake turned 8 and swam for our neighborhood swim team...the Westbury Sharks!
July - Missy and Dan came to St. Louis for 4 weeks with the kids...what fun we had!
August - The Roloff family vacation at Outer Banks, North Carolina...so gorgeous!
September 20th - Jason's brother Josh and wife Nicole had their first child - Oliver Aaron.
October - Grant turned 6...he is getting so tall!
November - Gabriel turned 5...he started pre K and loves it!
December - had a great family christmas with the Roloff's in Woodbury, Minnesota
December/January - Jason and I attended Urbana Missions conference here in St. Louis and it was an absolute blessing! Over 22,000 people there...mostly college students...all united in there desire to fulfill the great commission. We had the chance to talk to many different missions agencies.
In the midst of all this...we decided to remodel our kitchen, so we tore into that in September and were down to the studs. It was finally done right before Thanksgiving. I will include some before and after shots.
Sure do hope that your 2006 has been wonderful! Looking forward to keeping in touch with you all over the year to come...
Love,

Abby turns 2!

Abigail turned 2 on May 27th...she is really into Dora the explorer and Hello Kitty, so we decided to have a Kitty birthday party at a park close to our house. I made pink cupcakes, which she really enjoyed! We had a great time with friends and family. I can't believe she's already 2...she is such a joy to our family!

A beautiful day in January

That's one huge melon!

Can't believe we got a day in the 70's last weekend. Very rare for St. Louis in January...but the boys had a great time riding scooters and bikes without coats and hats on. The other pics are of Abby showing off her new red christmas shoes.

For part of our christmas celebration with the Roloff's, Gail treated all of us to a matinee preformance of the Nutcracker. So, since we were getting all dressed up anyways, we decided to have dad come over and take some pictures of us all together before we left. We had a great time...except the part where Abby started screaming at the top of her lungs. 30 minutes of men in tights, and one entire box of Altoids later, she decided she'd had ENOUGH. Oh well...we really had a great time. It was a beautiful!

Here are some pictures from our christmas! We had a great time celebrating with both families this year. The Roloff Christmas was at our house the weekend before christmas, and then we celebrated on Christmas day with the Freemans. Garett and Megan drove from LA, and Nate and Laura drove down from Detroit. It was great to see everyone and the cousins had a wonderful time! Josh and Nicole drove in from Colorado, and Josh remodeled both of the upstairs bathrooms! They look awesome...not sure he was too happy about spending his vacation time "working"...but we got him a BOSE sound dock for his ipod for his trouble. :) It was great to be together as a family...Mom and dad's house was very spacious and accomodating. We had a very relaxing time together.
